This painting has captured beautifully the golden autumn colours of this ancient celtic castle gardens.The Blarney Stone is one of the best known attractions to Ireland. So many people around the world know about it and want to kiss it. Most people in Ireland haven’t kissed the Blarney Stone and are not really bothered. It gives you the ‘gift of the gab’ they say! To kiss the stone is quite an awkward experience. You have to go to the top of a castle and bend over backwards over the precipice and there it is...

The word blarney is described as pleasant talk, intended to deceive without offending. You will also find the Rock Close, a mystical place with majestic yew and oak trees. There are pleasant walks along the riverbanks where you can sit and contemplate the reflections of the castle. In springtime the castle grounds are filled with thousands of bulbs and the ‘Belgian beds’, full of hybrid azaleas are in full flower. ..

It is a very popular destination on the tourist trail and when you enter through the castle like gate, there is an open courtyard and then further inside are many very old and small rooms all filled with real Irish character.
